Shark tank: Mr Tod's Pies

  • A show where entreprenurs go to try to get loans from other people to grow his business
  • Mr. Todds pie factory is a business and there is a big demand for sweet poatoe pies in north carolina
  • the sell over 3000 pies a day
  • he offered them 10 % of the company for $460000
  • He got 850000 on sales in pie he sold a million last year.
  • Half of his profit is from his sweet potatoe pie
  • He values his business at 4.6mil dollars
  • His sweet potatoe brings in 94 % of his wholesales business
  • Although he has 34 other flavors
  • he started off too big too soon and lived in his car
  • 6-7 years later he has two loactions
  • He advertises pies for good grades
  • In order to get what he wants he has to give up half his company

The strengths of thus business is that he had advertising that applied to children, persuasive in a way where he wanted to show that he had a care for his company that he wanted to become a part of the business.

The weeknesses are that he had a lot of extra expenses and that he had spend his money in a sense very carelessly.
His first offer was that $460000 for 10% of his company and then the offer changed to $460000 for 50%

Arnold Swarchenager

  • Arnold knew what he wanted to do from the very beginning
  • was born in 1947
  • he was the second son
  • lived in a 300 yr old house
  • he loved out doors and ice skating
  • His dad was a perfectionist and expected much from his father and often favored his older son over arnold
  • His parents were much more strict, and he wanted to prove he was very good
  • He craved recognition
  • He saw body buliders and was in awe, he knew he found his passion
  • No beleived that he could do that he could be a big body builder
  • He thought he had to sustitute the feeling of pain over the feeling of pleasure
  • he had a trainer who introduced him into new ways of being a body builder
  • He dreamed of being on onscreen adventures
  • He wanted to become an actor after he became a body builder
  • He would work out for hours , and once had colapsed
  • His parents called this an obsession that it wasnt realistic
  • hard work and self confidence were apart of his working out
  • Peiople often admired arnold his humore and smile and laugh was contagious to others
  • He enter the austrian army , his parent thought it would cure him of his diesase
  • He went awall in the army and went to a body building competiotion
  • Arnold tried to sneek back itno camp and was thrown in jail for 7 days

Arnold is a very humble person. He never really let himself get to the point where he thought he was better than anyone other than in competition.I learned from arnold that, even when to be constantly put down and for no one toi have faith in you means to keep trying that to never let yourself ghet to where you feel there is no point in trying. He was a fantastic role model health and emotional wise. Arnold took everything as a learning experience and his parents had called his body building as an obssesion but arnold did not give up. He always had a goal and did everyhting he possibly could to acheive his goal, He is an amazing role model for children today. He went back to school because arnold knew he needed something to fall back on and thought that he wanted some sort opf support system. Arnold was a very humble smart man, and an amazing role model.

    Richard Branson

    • companies are about finding the right people and learn from these other people.
    • Running a company is long long learning process
    • Running a company means that you have to be smart with all of the choices you make , making the right financial moves and by bing smart adn not gambling.
    • He has thousands of employees and find it very important to take care of them and to treat them right.
    • Being and entreprenur means you have to grow and to be on top means you have to keep growing your company making it better and better so that you are whos on top, but not to crush people on your way up
    • Like how Richard Branson has done he has grown his company world wide and now starting Virgin Galactic.
    • Taking risks and exploring yuor options are all apart of running a business.
    • Richard was dislexic and he left school at 15 he couldnt handle school or but he kept trying and striving for the best, he didnt let people put him down he kept going no matter what.
    • Gross sales= not taxed or distrubuted depending on liabilities.
    • his mother left him in feild at the age of 5 and told him he had to find his way to get to his grandmother's house, some may call this bad parenting but to richard branson it meant more, it make him think, find himself and not to depend necissarly on others but to use the supplies you have to get yuo to where you want to be.

    Richard Branson depicted a type of business that is very rare to see. You dont have to be ruthless or hard on your employees, that you treat everyone as equaly and not to get too high up on yourself. That treating your employees and customers as the same. To not to be afraid to dream big even if you have a disability and to not let people tell you that you cant do it. That to help the community and not be greedy and selfish. To take risk to expand your options but not to gamble and be smart with your actions and they every decison is a business decison and to make sure you do everything you can to be smart and take care of your company. That following the rule book is not your only option and to make your business everything that you had dreamed of.

    Statistics Show that an unhappy customer will tell 10 people about a problem, while an satisfied customer will only tell 4 people about a good experience.
